What it is
The NGO directory is your company's list of partners. For each NGO you record its details, contact person, areas of work and verification status, and then its registrations: Registrar of Associations number, Business Registration Number (BRN), NSIF registration and MRA charitable institution approval, each with its number, validity date where it has one, and a copy of the certificate.
None of these is legally required before a company funds an NGO from its CSR fund, so CorpHands does not block payments for missing registrations. Checking them still protects your company: CorpHands alerts you before an NSIF registration or MRA approval expires, and a funding request can only be approved for an NGO you have marked verified. CorpHands helps you keep records; it does not check registrations with the Registrar, the NSIF or the MRA for you and is not legal advice.
What you can use it for
- Record each NGO's Registrar of Associations number, BRN, NSIF registration and MRA charitable institution approval.
- See which registrations have expired or expire soon, and email the list to the CSR admins.
- Store the agreement, audited accounts and other documents, each with its own expiry date.
- Choose the NGO on a CSR programme, for the CSR fund statement and the Mauritius report pack.
- See the activities and recorded spending for each NGO on one page.
- Invite NGO staff to the partner portal to confirm attendance, upload photo proof and sign off activities.
How to do it

Tips and good practice
- When the list shows an alert, click Email me the list to send the expiring and expired registrations to all CSR admins.
- Ask each NGO for its latest audited accounts once a year, and keep them with its documents.
- NGOs created from a funding request start as Pending verification. Check their registrations before approving money.
- The NSIF funds NGOs from the CSR money remitted to the MRA. An NSIF registration tells you an NGO is known to the NSIF; it is not a condition for your own CSR programmes.
- On Starter, the directory holds up to 10 NGOs, including those added from requests. Business and Enterprise have no limit.
Questions
Does CorpHands verify registrations with the Registrar of Associations, the NSIF or the MRA?
No. You check the original certificates and record the result. CorpHands tracks the dates and warns you before they expire.
Must an NGO be registered with the NSIF before we fund it?
No registration is legally required before a company funds an NGO from its CSR fund, so CorpHands records them without blocking payments. Many companies still check them as good practice.
Why can't we approve a funding request?
The linked NGO is not marked verified, or its registration has expired. Check the NGO, record the renewed certificate and mark it verified.
Can a partner portal user see other NGOs?
No. Each partner user belongs to one NGO and only sees activities your company runs with that NGO.
