What it is
You choose your company's country when you sign up. For a company in the United States, CorpHands shows amounts in US dollars ($1,500, with cents where needed) and dates in month-day-year order, such as Oct 30, 2026. Activity times, reminders and reports use one time zone for the whole account, Eastern Time (New York), and CorpHands handles daylight saving time for you: an activity at 9:00 stays at 9:00 local time all year. If most of your people work in another time zone, talk to us before you set up.
Reports, budgets and the Giving and tax page follow your fiscal year, which runs from January to December by default and is shown as the year, for example 2026. Set it to match your company's tax year, because contributions count in the tax year in which they are paid. A year starting in July is shown as FY 2026-27 (July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027).
The country also sets the list prices you are offered and how invoices treat tax. Prices exclude sales tax. We don't charge sales tax at present; ask your tax team whether use tax applies in your state. The interface is in English.
What you can use it for
- Record budgets, donations and receipts in US dollars.
- Group reports, budgets and the charitable deduction estimate by fiscal year.
- Set the year to your tax year, for example July to June.
- Add your company's EIN so it is printed on our invoices to you.
- Use Eastern Time, with daylight saving time, for activity times, reminders and audit-log filters.

Tips and good practice
- Set the year before you record budgets and donations, because changing it changes how every report groups your data.
- If your tax year does not start at the beginning of a month, or is a 52–53 week year, choose the nearest month and check the deduction estimate with your tax adviser.
- Each invoice keeps its own currency and prints in it.
- The website has a US version at /us with prices in US dollars.
- Country notes on the website are general information, not legal or tax advice. Check the rules with your advisers.
Questions
Are prices live currency conversions?
No. The US has fixed list prices in US dollars. See Pricing.
Is sales tax added to our invoices?
Not at present. Prices exclude sales tax, and we don't charge sales tax today; the invoice says so. Ask your tax team whether use tax applies in your state.
Why does the year start in January?
It is the default for the US. Many companies' tax years are different, so set the start month in Settings → Reporting.
What happens to activity times when the clocks change?
Nothing you need to do. Times are stored in Eastern Time and CorpHands applies standard or daylight saving time for each date.
