What it is

At year end the same figures go into several places: the Corporation Tax return, the community section of your annual report and section 172 statement, and social value reports to buyers. The UK report pack takes your CorpHands data for a fiscal year and lays it out as an Excel (XLSX) or CSV file you can check and copy from.

CorpHands prepares data only. It does not file anything with HMRC or send anything to a buyer, and the pack is not an official form or a buyer's template. Confirm the tax figures with your adviser. The Giving and social value page also has a CSV for the year or for one campaign.

What you can use it for

  • Qualifying donations: each paid cash donation to a charity with a register number or HMRC reference, with the date, charity, number, purpose and amount, and the total.
  • B4SI inputs: cash, time (approved hours × the value of a volunteer hour), in-kind, and sponsorship shown within cash. Management costs are left blank for you to add.
  • Social value: PPN 002 metrics 3bi (community engagement activities) and 4bi (hours on environmental activities), volunteering hours and hours by UK region.
  • Indicators: the GRI and B4SI rows from the framework mapping.
  • Impact, Charity partners and Activities & evidence: impact metrics, your partners and each activity with approved hours and partner sign-off.

Tips and good practice

  • Set your fiscal year to match your accounting period before year end, because qualifying donations follow the period in which they are paid.
  • The value of volunteer time is hours × your company's value of a volunteer hour (Settings). It is an estimate; say so when you report it.
  • Every pack download is recorded in the audit log.

Questions

Does CorpHands file our Corporation Tax return or send our report to a buyer?

No. CorpHands prepares the figures. Your company and its advisers file the return, and report to each buyer in the format the contract asks for.

Why is a donation missing from the qualifying donations?

It is not paid, not dated in the year, not in cash, marked as sponsorship, or the charity has no register number or HMRC reference recorded. The Giving and social value page lists cash payments to check.
