What it is

NGOs often need professional help as much as extra hands: accounting, legal drafting, design, IT, translation or tutoring. Your Skills on your profile tell the CSR team what you can offer.

The CSR team sees your skills on your page in People and can invite you to skills-based (pro bono) activities that fit. CorpHands does not match people to projects automatically; the CSR team uses your skills list to decide who to approach.

You can also find skills-based activities yourself with the Skills-based filter in Activities, and earn the Skills mentor badge.

What you can use it for

  • Offer your finance skills to help an NGO with its budget or reports
  • Volunteer as a designer, developer or translator for an NGO project
  • Tutor students in spoken English, maths, science or computers
  • Help the CSR team staff pro bono projects with the right people
  • Earn the Skills mentor badge for skills-based hours

  • Keep your list up to date when you change role or learn something new.
  • Hours on skills-based activities count towards the Skills mentor badge.

Questions

Who can see my skills?

You and your company's CSR admins, on your page in People.

Will CorpHands match me to projects automatically?

No. The CSR team uses your skills to decide whom to invite. You can also browse skills-based activities yourself.

Can I write skills in Hindi or another language?

Yes. Separate them with commas. Add the English term as well, so your CSR team finds you when they search.

Is skills-based volunteering counted differently in reports?

Skills-based activities are tagged, so the CSR team can report them separately alongside other volunteering.
