What it is
Activities is where you see every upcoming volunteering activity your CSR team has published. Each card shows the date, time, place, the hours you will be credited and how many places are left.
You join with one tap. If the activity is full, you join the waitlist instead, and CorpHands moves you up automatically when someone cancels. You never have to chase a spreadsheet or a WhatsApp group to find out whether you are in.
What you can use it for
- Find something to do this week or this month, filtered by cause
- Join a company campaign, such as a Daan Utsav drive, from its own filter
- Look for skills-based (pro bono) activities that use your professional skills
- Check which NGO organises an activity and whether its registration is verified
- Hold a place on a full activity through the waitlist
- Release your place if your plans change, so a colleague can take it
How to do it
Find and join an activity
- Open ActivitiesIn the employee app, tap Activities. You see published activities that have not ended yet, soonest first.
- Filter the listUse the chips at the top: All, Joined, Skills-based, any running campaign, or a cause such as Food, Environment, Education, Health, Social care or Other.
- Open the activityTap a card to see when and where it is, the NGO it is organised with (with its registration status), the expected impact, a description and how many volunteers have joined.
- JoinTap Join activity. You see a confirmation, and an email with the details and a calendar invite is sent to you.
Join the waitlist or cancel your place
- Join the waitlistIf the activity is full, the button reads Join the waitlist. You get an email saying you are on the waitlist.
- Get moved upWhen a registered person cancels, the first person on the waitlist is registered automatically and receives an email with the calendar invite.
- CancelOn the activity page, tap Cancel my place, then Yes, cancel my place. You cannot cancel after you have checked in.
Tips and good practice
- Use the Joined filter to see everything you have signed up for in one place.
- Cancel as early as you can. Your place goes straight to the next person on the waitlist.
- If an activity is cancelled by the CSR team, everyone registered or on the waitlist is told by email.
- Have an idea that is not on the list? Use the Suggest a cause box at the bottom of Activities.
Questions
Why can't I see an activity a colleague mentioned?
Only published activities that have not ended appear. Drafts are hidden, and in companies with several brands or countries the CSR team may run separate programmes.
Who goes first on the waitlist?
People are moved up in the order they joined the waitlist.
Do I need to install an app?
No. CorpHands runs in your phone or computer browser.
What does the registration label next to the NGO mean?
It shows whether your CSR team has verified the NGO's registration, whether it is a government body, or whether the check is still pending.
