What it is

The Overview page is the first screen of the CSR workspace. It shows how your volunteering programme is doing this year, using live data from CorpHands. Nothing needs to be exported or refreshed by hand: when an hour submission is approved, the figures update.

Every figure on the page counts approved hours only. Pending or rejected submissions never appear in totals. This keeps the dashboard consistent with the ESG report and with what you will later show to management, auditors or a stock exchange.

The dashboard breaks results down by department. It does not have a brand or country filter. If your plan includes several brands (Enterprise), the By brand chart is on the ESG report page instead. A breakdown by country is not available today.

What you can use it for

  • Check employee participation (volunteers out of active employees) before a management meeting.
  • See which departments give the most hours and where participation is low.
  • Spot the peak month in the Volunteer hours by month chart, for example Daan Utsav or Independence Day.
  • Follow the to-do notices: hours waiting for approval, new funding requests, leave requests and NGO registrations that expire within 30 days.
  • Track how much of this year's CSR budget is committed and paid in the Budget used card.
  • Give an external auditor read-only access to the same view.

How to do it

Read the dashboard for a year

  1. Open OverviewGo to CSR workspace → Overview. The page opens on the current year, year to date.
  2. Pick another yearUse the year list at the top (current year and the two before it) and choose View.
  3. Read the four headline figuresEmployee participation, Volunteer hours (approved only), People helped (confirmed after activities) and Community investment (cash and in-kind, paid directly to NGOs).
  4. Look at the breakdownsVolunteer hours by month highlights the peak month. Hours by department shows hours and the participation rate for each department.
  5. Act on the noticesChoose Review now next to a notice to go straight to Hours approvals, Requests or Leave approvals.

Make the department breakdown work

  1. Add departmentsGo to CSR workspace → People → departments and create your departments. Until you do, the card says “Add departments to see this breakdown.”
  2. Assign employeesSet each employee's department, by hand or with the people import. Hours from employees without a department are not shown in this card.

Tips and good practice

  • Approve hours regularly. A long queue in Hours approvals makes the dashboard look lower than reality.
  • Participation is volunteers divided by active employees. Deactivate people who have left so the rate stays fair.
  • People helped comes from the beneficiary numbers recorded on activities after they end. Fill them in for each activity.
  • Coordinators do not see the Overview page. Owners, admins and auditors do.

Questions

Why don't my pending hours show?

The dashboard and all reports count approved hours only. Approve or reject submissions in Hours approvals.

Can I filter the dashboard by brand or country?

No. The Overview page has a year selector and a department breakdown. On Enterprise, the ESG report page adds a By brand chart. There is no country breakdown today.

Is the data live?

Yes. The page reads directly from your records each time it loads.

What currency is used?

Money is shown in your company's local currency, in rupees (₹) for companies in India, with Indian digit grouping.
