What it is

A campaign is a theme that holds several activities together for a period of time. Think of a Ramadan programme with iftar box packing every week, a National Day month of community visits, or a back-to-school drive. You give the campaign a name, dates and an optional goal in volunteer hours, then link activities to it.

The campaign page adds up the results of its activities for you: approved hours, number of activities and people helped. In the Gulf, most CSR calendars are built around a few seasonal moments. Campaigns let you plan and report on each moment as one piece of work instead of a loose list of events.

To save time, start from a template: Ramadan giving campaign, National Day volunteering (using your company's country), Back to school, World Environment Day, International Volunteer Day, Eid al-Adha giving, Winter clothing drive or Blood donation drive. Each comes with suggested dates, an hours goal and two to four suggested activities with their logistics checklists.

What you can use it for

  • Run a Ramadan campaign with several iftar box packing and food basket activities and one shared hours goal.
  • Plan a National Day or Liberation Day month of visits to care homes and community breakfasts.
  • Track a back-to-school drive across offices with one progress bar.
  • Report a seasonal programme to management with approved hours, activity count and people helped in one place.

Tips and good practice

  • Only approved hours count towards the goal. Clear the queue in Hours approvals before you share campaign results.
  • Include “Ramadan” or «رمضان» in the campaign name. Employees with approved hours in such a campaign earn the Ramadan helper badge.
  • Ramadan and Eid dates in templates are approximate because they follow the moon sighting. Confirm them with the official announcement and adjust the campaign.
  • Fill in People helped on each activity after it ends, so the campaign total is complete.
